“I’ve been in the country music business for 40 years now,” promoter Albi Matter reflects. “It has always been my dream to organize a truly major festival in Zurich,” he says. On Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, 2026, that dream comes true: Country-Bigtime at the Hallenstadion Zurich.
The list of international top acts Albi Matter has secured reads like a “Who’s Who” of today’s country scene. “Give the people what they want,” says Switzerland’s Country Pope, as he is respectfully called by his audience. With his selection, he has likely hit the nail on the head. Saturday’s international lineup features the young rising star John Foster & Band (USA), Runaway June (USA) – including the granddaughter of Western film legend John Wayne – and Canadian superstar Johnny Reid, who has sold out Zurich concerts four times in recent years. But for insiders, one name stands out immediately: The BoykinZ.
The four sisters Kylan, Anale, Nytere, and Alona Boykin from Belleville, Georgia, have been causing a massive stir for months with their unique blend of country, western, soul, pop, and hip-hop. They’re taking social media by storm (over 4 million YouTube followers) as well as live stages. Their biggest fan is none other than superstar Shania Twain, who is known to live in western Switzerland. Albi Matter will be the first promoter ever to bring this sensational quartet to Europe. Their performance on Saturday will therefore not only be a Swiss premiere, but a true European premiere.
Sunday’s program also promises to be spectacular. It kicks off as early as 8 a.m. in the Hallenstadion and will end in the evening with a guaranteed folk festival atmosphere. The legendary Bellamy Brothers will be responsible for this finale, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their global smash hit “Let Your Love Flow.” You can bet the entire arena will be singing along on Sunday!
The lineup of Swiss artists appearing at Albi’s Country Festival in the Hallenstadion is also a roll call of the country scene’s leading and most outstanding names in the country. Packed with interesting and truly surprising collaborations, details will be revealed at a later date.
